A haven for sunshine, beaches and seafood: introducing Mui Ne!
Mui Ne: a coastal paradise in the South-East of Vietnam
Mui Ne is a popular destination for both Vietnamese and foreign travellers. Better known for travel and tourism now, the original town was more of a fishing village. With stunning scenery from the ocean to the famous red and white sand dunes, this destination has something for everyone. Specifically, amateur and professional photographers will find much on offer here from nature to local village life. Also, the area has plenty of seafood restaurants and opportunity to sample local fresh fish, shellfish, shark and more. In addition, Vietnam’s favourite condiment fish sauce (Nuoc Mam) is produced in factories here in large quantities.
Weather & Transport
Mui Ne has pleasant weather for most of the year and is one of the sunniest spots in all of Vietnam. Therefore it is a great spot for beach, water sports and relaxing. Also it has regular, strong wind during dry season, making it very popular for kite-surfing. Approximately 4 hours East of Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), Mui Ne is a 12 km-long strip of beach-side resorts and restaurants. Current transport options from HCMC include trains, buses, and private cars. Thankfully, an airport development is planned for nearby city Phan Thiet to dramatically shorten travel time in the future.
