Mekong Survey Trip

On Tuesday 17th January, some of our In Country Tours Office and Guide Team visited the Mekong Delta of Vietnam to survey areas and routes for upcoming cycling and motorbike touring for visitors to the region.

With high rainfall in the past year it was important to take some time out to head back to the areas and assess any improvements going forward now we are post flood season. We reviewed our safe and exciting options for guests to ride, both at low and high challenge levels. On our day in the Mekong Delta we explored around Cai Be, Cai Lay and Phu An. We are excited to introduce some new fun activities and lovely places to stop for a break and local interaction.

Guests wanting to cycle typically choose either low or high challenge routes. An example of a low challenge route is a leisurely 7 km ride with cultural interaction (such as weaving products from water hyacinth or making a hammock from banana leaf). A high challenge route can be 18-20km for guests who have more skills and experience on bikes.

In Country Tours always ensures guests wear helmets and we provide carefully maintained bicycles. Safety is a primary concern of ours at all times, so our design and planning includes a full review and risk assessment with designated evacuation routes in case of emergencies.
